Attendance & Performance Contract       2007/08

1)                                     Student will attend as scheduled.  If Student misses class or is late for any reason without prior permission, he/she will be given warning.  If it persists for 3 sessions parents will be contacted.  With 10 unexcused absences the student will lose credit for the semester and receive NC (no credit) on the report card.

2)                                     Student will be registered for 6 active classes at a time.  This will allow Student to attain academic credits toward graduation.

3)                                     Student will keep a planner with all assignments written in it and will have it signed and reviewed by parent weekly.  Student will complete all time logs and assignments weekly and turn them in weekly.

4)                                     Student will be respectful and follow the instruction of any adults leading the class.  This means, listen when spoken to, follow instructions and behave appropriately. If any teacher, aide or substitute reports that Student has been disrespectful, the incident will be investigated and Student may not receive credit for that day’s assignment.

5)                                     Student will be respectful of all people encountered in school.  That includes students enrolled in CLIP or using the rest of the campus.  He/she will use appropriate language, without any swearing or name calling.  RSD has a strict policy prohibiting harassment and bullying

6)                                     We expect all work to be the students’ original work.  Cheating, forgery and plagiarism are unacceptable.  DO YOUR OWN WORK.  The first offense will result in a zero for the assignment or test and the second offense for the same class will result in a failing grade for the class.

7)                                     The internet is a resource and tool used for school work only at school.  Follow all of the use guidelines on the computer use agreement.  Internet use for personal email, chat, gaming or any other downloads is not allowed.

8)                                     Student will maintain a dress code.  Clothing will not reference drugs, tobacco or alcohol.  It should not be excessively tight or overly revealing.  Clothing should cover from shoulders to mid thigh and underwear should not be visible.  Student will be sent home at the first offense and a parent conference requested.  3rd warning will result in suspension.

9)                                     No drugs, tobacco, weapons, or alcohol are allowed on campus or within the sight of the school by state law.  Any student attending class suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be subject to suspension and parents will be called to pick up the student from school.  Possession of weapons, drugs or alcohol will result in immediate emergency expulsion.

10)                                No electronic communication devices allowed in class.  Cellphones, pagers and IM devices off and put in backpacks.  Music headphones off except at independent study time as designated by teachers.

11)                                Student’s parent will maintain weekly contact with the teacher.  That contact may be via email, but needs to be initiated by the parent.  At that time any issues can be addressed and improvement will be expected before the next parent contact.  If Student can’t improve behavior or performance within 3 written warnings, Student will be suspended until a parent conference is held.
