Valley Football History

High School Football in the Valley

High school football may be the underrated pastime in America. While baseball fans enjoy a long season in favorable weather, football fans brave the elements every Friday night each Fall, converging in hordes around community gridirons across the nation. The Lower Snoqualmie Valley community is no exception.

The original Duvall High School moved to Carnation in the 1940's making the only high school in the valley Tolt High School.  Before 1944, high school football was played in 6-man squads, taking advantage of the short supply of athletes that tiny rural schools could muster. By the end of World War II, both Tolt and Mount Si High Schools followed the trend to form 11-man squads and enter competition.

Our passion for high school football has driven us to learn of its origin and proud tradition. With great pride we present these pages of historic scores and stories. Our hope has been, and continues to be, to unite our growing communities around this one dependable pastime.
