I am a 1997 graduate of
Washington State University where I
received a Bachelors Degree in History as well as my degree in
Secondary Education. In July of 2007 I completed my Master's
Degree in
Educational Technology, Curriculum, and Instruction from City
University. I
have been a teacher at Cedarcrest High School since 1999 and I
teach Psychology, United States History and Senior Seminar. Outside of the classroom I am also the Head Baseball
Coach for the Cedarcrest Redwolves and I have held that position since
the 2003 season. Since taking over as head coach my 2005 team won the Cascade Conference
championship, and my 2007 team placed third in state.
Personal
Before attending Washington State University I was a
1990 graduate of Kentwood High School in
Covington, Washington (the greatest single place in the universe
outside of Pullman, regardless of what Pittis says). I played
baseball for several
years through high school and college but now spend my
recreational time surfing, snowboarding/skiing, camping,
hiking, hunting with my father, and traveling
the world with my wife. In August of 2006 I was married to former
Cedarcrest teacher Ms.
Melinda Torre. Many current students remember Ms. Torre as a
Health & Physical Education teacher. However, she has a
Bachelor's Degree from The University of Washington (yes I'm a Coug and
she's a Husky) in Sociology and
Social Studies, and a Master's Degree in Education from the University
of Phoenix. She is now a Social Studies teacher at her alma
mater Snohomish High School and in 2008 she will be helping to
open the brand new high school in Snohomish called Glacier Peak, where
she will be teaching social studies and coaching the girls soccer
team. -VS- |
