I am a 1997 graduate of
Washington State University where I
received a Bachelors Degree in History as well as my degree in
Secondary Education. In July of 2007 I completed my Master's
Degree in
Educational Technology, Curriculum, and Instruction from City
University. I
have been a teacher at Cedarcrest High School since 1999 and I
teach Psychology, United States History and Senior Seminar. Outside of the classroom I am also the Head Baseball
Coach for the Cedarcrest Redwolves and I have held that position since
the 2003 season. Since taking over as head coach my teams have won the Cascade Conference
championship once in 2005, and finished third in state in both 2007 and 2008.
Personal
Before attending Washington State University I was a
1990 graduate of Kentwood High School in
Covington, Washington (the greatest single place in the universe
outside of Pullman, regardless of what Pittis says). I played
baseball for several
years through high school and college but now spend my
recreational time surfing, snowboarding/skiing, camping,
hiking, hunting with my father, and traveling with my wife.
In August of 2006 I was married to former
Cedarcrest teacher Ms.
Melinda Torre. She has a
Bachelor's Degree from The University of Washington (yes I'm a Coug and
she's a Husky) in Sociology and
Social Studies, and a Master's Degree in Education from the University
of Phoenix. She is a graduate of Snohomish High School and
returned to her alma
mater three years ago before moving to Glacier Peak High School (new
high school in the Snohomish School District) in 2008 where she teaches
Social Studies and is the head coach of the girls soccer team. -VS- |
