Email: valentam@riverview.wednet.edu Professional I am a 1999 graduate of Cedarcrest High School and I grew up in the valley. After
graduating from Cedarcrest I attended Pacific Lutheran University
and in 2003 I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Political
Science and a B.F.A in Communications/Social Justice & Advocacy.
In 2005 I also earned my Masters Degree in Education with an
emphasis in Reading, as well as a Secondary Endorsement in Social
Studies from Pacific Lutheran University. After earning my
masters degree I returned to Cedarcrest High School to teach social
studies, and I have been a teacher at my
alma mater since the 2005-06 school year. Along with my teaching duties I am also the acting
Associated Student Body Advisor and the designated advisor for the
class of 2010.
Personal
I'm a rabid Seattle Seahawks
fan and you are guaranteed to find me in the seats at Qwest Field for
each and every home game. I am also an avid golfer and my golf team
took first place at the 2007 REF Golf Tournament at Trilogy Golf
Course in Redmond. I became a teacher because I think it is
important to help young people understand the world around them and
their role in it. As a graduate of Cedarcrest, I want to give
back to the place that has done so much to support and encourage me.
