Varsity Team in Relaxed Mode

|
The 2001 team started the season with a trip to Las Vegas. The
team played four games, winning 2 and losing 2 (only 1 was a varsity game).
During the trip we visited the UNLV campus and many of the players enjoyed a
flight into the Grand Canyon in small, 6-passenger planes.
The team won many close games and finished the season by making it to the Kingco
Playoffs for the first time since we came into the league--but it was not easy.
At one point in the season it looked like a playoff spot was locked up, but by
losing a couple of games at the end of the year we finished the regular season
tied with Interlake for the last playoff spot. This time we won the important
game to advance. Our first game in the league playoffs was against Newport in a
loser-out event. Newport ended up winning and advanced to the Washington State
Regional Tournament the next weekend.
