The 2002 team started the season with a trip to Phoenix. The
group--a mixture of varsity and JV players--played four games in a tournament in
Fountain Hills, Arizona (Fountain Hills HS, Phoenix Christian HS, and Scottsdale
Christian).
During the trip we visited the ASU campus, attended an ASU-Oklahoma baseball
game, and went to the Seattle Mariner spring training complex in Peoria. In
Peoria we watched spring training workouts as well as a game between the
Mariners and the San Diego Padres.
The varsity team struggled early in the season, but finished strong. The last
week in the season we lost a very close game against Skyline, the eventual 3A
State runner-up, and beat Interlake and Bellevue. The C-Team had the best
overall record of any C-Team we have had since going into the Kingco Conference.
