Halloween History Halloween is celebrated on the night of October 31. It is acknowledged by many Christian nations, counting England, United States, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Canada, and sometimes Australia and New Zealand. Also many Latin American countries where it is known as Noche de las Brujas (Night of the Witches). Halloween activities include trick-or-treating, Halloween festivals, bonfires, costume parties, visiting "haunted houses" and viewing horror films. -List of Halloween foods given away during Halloween. "Fun-sized" or individually wrapped pieces of small candy. Novelty candy shaped like skulls, pumpkins, bats, worm, etc. Chocolate, caramels, and gum. Small bags of chips and pretzels. Halloween is much more traditional in Ireland than in North America. Druids celebrated Halloween with a great fire festival to help keep the already diminishing sun from bellowing out of existence. In modern times (in the USA) Halloween gains millions of dollars from selling Halloween costumes. Many popular costumes are Dracula, Skeletons, and Undead animals.
