Assignment: Small Retail Store Project--Floor Plan. Use the graph paper handed out with the assignment sheet to draw a floor plan for your store. Due Thursday, May 1.

We started reviewing for the upcoming test (Thursday, March 20). If you were absent get notes from one of the other students--

* Test will cover Chapters 1, 3, and 5
* Major question: You will be given the 5 parts to a business plan from page 116--you will need to be able to
list what goes in each part.
* You should be able to least advantages and disadvantages of the sole proprietorship form of business AND
the advantages and disadvantages of the partnership form.
* You should be able to write out a definition for the terms at the end of Chapter 5--page130.

Assignment: Chapter 5 Vocabulary--due today

Incomplete Auto Purchase Contract assignments were handed back so students could complete/correct their work--then the corrected contract was handed in.

Thursday, March 6 (Day 21)

Assignment: Auto Purchase Contract--completed and turned in
Assignment: Chapter 5 Vocabulary--due tomorrow. The Review Facts questions are tentatively due Monday.

Monday, March 3 (Day 18)

Assignment: Duvall Landscaping, Project 1 -- due today at the end of the period
* Make sure that you have checked your work with the online key
* Together we will prepare an ending balance sheet--which will be turned in with the entire project
Signed progress reports were turned in today. Bring them tomorrow if you forgot today.
Chapter 4 Review Facts was suppose to be turned in today, but because I forgot to ask for it you will get full credit if you turn it in tomorrow at the beginning of class.

Friday, February 29 (Day 17)

Chapter 4 Vocabulary should be turned in today
Duvall Landscaping assignment:
* Check you work against the key to make sure your entries and postings are correct
* We will prepare a balance sheet for Duvall Landscaping
* Turn in the Duvall Landscaping project with the ending balance sheet. This may be turned in Monday if you
need more time to correct your mistakes.

Assignment: Duvall Landscaping--record and post the transactions dated February 28. We will be checking the work tomorrow and turning in the completed packet.

Monday, February 11 (Day 8)

Check your first two entries for the Duvall Landscaping project with the key on our class web site
Assignment: Duvall Landscaping--record and post the three transactions from from February 11.
Assignment: Chapter 1 Case 1-1 and 1-2, pages 26 and 27. This will be due Thursday, February 14.

Week of February 4 - 8

Friday, February 8 (Day 7)

Assignment: Duvall Landscaping Project--we will get a packet for the accounting entries for this project. We will enter the first two transactions.
We checked the balance sheet done yesterday, and stapled it to the back of the packet.
DATE CHANGE: The Chapter 2 Vocabulary will now be due on TUESDAY (2/12) instead of Monday, and the Chapter 2 Review Facts will be due on Thursday (2/14).

Thursday, February 7 (Day 6)

Assignment: Chapter 2 Vocabulary was assigned--due on Monday at the beginning of the period.
Assignment: Chapter 2 Review Facts was assigned--due on Monday at the beginning of the period.
Assignment: Duvall Landscaping Project--we prepared the beginning balance sheet. This will be turned in when we finish the project later in the month

Tuesday, February 5 (Day 4)

Chapter 1 Review Facts must be turned in at the beginning of the period to receive full credit. Late assignments were earn half credit.
Accounting: we started a list of accounting terms and definitions:
* Assets (anything of value to the business)
* Liabilities (debts of the business)
* Capital/Owner's Equity (In general, both terms have the same difinition: the owner's value in the business)
* Owners drawing account (keeps track of what the owner takes out of the business for personal use)
* Revenue (how the business normally makes money)
* Expenses (short-term costs that directly relate to earning revenue)
We started to learn about the accounting system of debits and credits

Monday, February 4 (Day 3)

Due Today: Chapter 1, Vocabulary, 30 terms listed on page 23 must be turned in at the beginning of the period to get full credit. Half credit will be given for this assignment if it is turned in late.
We spent the period working on the Chapter 1 Review Facts questions
