The World War 2

The second world war occurred 1939-1945. The president of the U.S. was Franklin Roosevelt.  Many countries in this major war were Britain, France, Egypt, Japan, Iraq, New Zealand, Romania, Spain, Poland, Germany, Vietnam, Thailand, Hungary, China, and finally the U.S. There were many reasons why this war started, one was the Treaty of Versailles. The Treaty of Versailles was when Germany was only allowed to have a small army and they should accept the fact that they were the blame for the first world war. Another reason was because of the newly elected chancellor of Germany; Hitler, in 1933. Hitler, once elected, immediately started building up Germany's secret army and weapons, against all previous rules made. In 1934, he increased the size of the army size, began building warships, and created a German air force. He then tried to get back the land Germany lost in the first world war. Lastly, he tried to convince everyone, including the Germans themselves, that they were perfect people and that all their problems that had occurred was because of the Jewish. And they had been trying to pull Germany down ever since they got there. So, something had to be done; putting all Jewish people in concentration camps, Hitler and his army secretly tried to kill the entire Jewish race. This horrid act by Hitler and many other German soldiers is known as the Holocaust. Germany soon surrendered in May of 1945, a week after Adolf Hitler committed suicide.
