THE CIVIL WAR

          The Civil War began in 1861 and ended in 1865. During this time, Abraham Lincoln was the president of the United States. Causes of the war included slavery, the election of Abraham Lincoln, and many major factors and differences between the North and South. Major generals of the war are Ulysses S. Grant, Robert E. Lee, and Stonewall Jackson.The climaxing event that ended the war was the assassination of Lincoln.
