World war II
"December 7th, 1941, a day that shall live in infamy" the day that the Japanese air and naval forces planned an assault on the pacific fleet, stationed in Pearl Harbor was attacked by the air and naval forces of Japan. That famous quote was spoken by Theodore Roosevelt, the President when America became involved in World War Two. Some of the most noticeable battles were the assault on Iwo Jima, the Battle of the Bulge, and Colonel Doolittle's air raid on Tokyo City. The major causes of America's involvement in the war that lasted from late 1941 to the middle of 1944 was that of the Japanese act of war. America then involved itself in multiple Eurasian Theatres, as well as Spec Ops in Egypt, working in conjunction with the British unit, the "Desert Rats". The war was finally concluded with the successful detonation of two atomic bombs, Little Boy, and Fat Man both dropped by the Bombers Enola Gay and Bockscar. |
