THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION

The American Revolution was a long war between 1775-1783.  The president at the time was George Washington who was a leader of the army's during the war and was named President and helped set up the Declaration of Independence.  Some things that started the war would be The Boston Tea Party, On the evening of December 16th Samuel Adams denounced the Governor for denying clearance for any ship with tea on board, so 50 men dressed as Indians and climbed aboard a ship and dumped 90000 pounds of tea into the sea.  The First continental congress met in Philadelphia, from September 5th to October 26th 1774.  What ended the war was the Treaty of Paris on September 3, 1783, a peace treaty was signed that completely ended The Revolutionary War.

Major battles of the war include: The Battle of Trenton, The Battle of Germantown, The Battle of Bunker Hill, and The Battle of Yorktown.
