Civil War

The Civil War took place between 1861, and 1865. The North, also known as the Union, was fighting the South, also known as the Confederates. The Union was fighting to get rid of slavery, and the Confederates were fighting to keep it. Abraham Lincoln, the president at the time, wanted slavery to end. T Some of the battle in the Civil War were, Ft. Sumner, Battle of Pea Ridge, Monitor vs. Virginia, and the Red River Campaign.  he war ended in 1865 when General Lee surrendered.
