Revolutionary War
The Revolutionary War began April 19, 1775, and ended in 1783. It all began with the famous "Midnight Ride," when Paul Revere galloped his horse from Boston to Lexington to warn John Hancock and Samuel Adams that the British were coming for them. The whole reason for the war was that the Americans wanted to be free from Great Britain. They were tired of being controlled by a country half way across the world. Americans wanted to be an independent country, and have their own government. The Battle of Bunker Hill, the Siege of Boston, Battle of Trenton, and the Battle of Guilford Court, were just four of the many battle fought during the war. The war ended when the Treaty of Paris was signed.
