| The Civil War began
on April 12, 1861 due to the south not wanting to release the slaves and
the North was making harsh trade demands. America was the only country
involved because it was a "Civil" war.
The end of the war was caused by General Robert E. Lee surrendering near Durham in North Carolina on April 9, 1965 Some of the major battles in the civil war were Ft. Sumter, Bull Run, Antietam, Battle of Nashville.
