Home THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION The American Revolution was an epic battle that began in 1775 and ended in 1783. At this time, Thomas Jefferson was the president of the United States of America. The war involved both the US colonies, as well as Great Britain. The main cause of the war was unrest from the colonists as the Brittish imposed larger and larger taxes, or "acts". Some of these "acts" had been: the "Stamp Act", the "Tea Act", and many more. Major battles of the war include:
