THE CIVIL WAR

          The American Civil War greatly impacted the American way of life.  The Civil War occurred from 1861 to 1865, during the presidency of Abraham Lincoln.  The major parties involved were the Union (the abolitionist states) and the Confederacy (the slave states.)  The cause for this war was a disagreement on slavery.  The battle of Nashville was the climaxing event in the war.
