WORLD WAR II

American History was greatly shaped by World War II.  This war occurred from 1939 to 1945, during the presidency of Franklin D. Roosevelt.  The major roles in this war were played by Germany, Adolf Hitler, the United States, and Japan.  The war began when Germany invaded Poland and Japan invaded China.  The climaxing events in the war occurred when the  Allies liberated Buchenwald and the U.S. nuked Japan.
