THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION

The American Revolution occurred between 1757-1774.  There was no president in America at this time because they were ruled by Britain. Britain was trying to control the American colonists by using the Stamp Act, Townshend Acts, and the Quartering Act. The colonist rebelled with the Boston Tea Party and the Boston Massacre. This war was put to an end by the battle of Yorktown and the Treaty of Paris.

Major battles of the war include:

Lexington and Concord, Germantown, Bunker Hill, and Monmouth.
