WORLD WAR I I World War II occurred between the years 1939-1945. Franklin D. Roosevelt was president of the U.S. at this time. Adolf Hitler was the main leader for Germany and Winston Churchill was greatly involved in Britain. This war was cause when Adolf Hitler decided to try to bring Germany back from the devastation of World War I where they were treated with unfair conditions by the treaty. Hitler tried to bring Germany back to great power by eliminating Jewish people from their country and invading all of Europe. This was put to an end by American forces invading and pushing the German forces back and forcing them to surrender eventually. Major battles of the war include: Battle of Britain, Midway, Desert War, D-Day.
