THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION At the time of the American Revolution there was no president to lead the rising nation of America. There were only the Nations of Great Britain, France, and of course the colonies of America. The war was large and had a good point, just take a look at what America was put through! There was the Stamp tax which rose the price of stamps significantly, and the new taxes which are new or increased taxes on old wares and the Townshend acts which gave England power over America essentially. Enough was enough and America revolted by dumping lots of English tea into the water at Boston's harbor, this came to be known as the Boston tea party. This also infuriated the English, leading to full scale war. Major battles of the war include: -The battle of Valcour Bay -The battle of King Mountain -The battle of Trenton -The battle of Princeton
