A creative snap-shot look at the history of Duvall and the surrounding area
In the early days of Duvall
Two tracks ran into town
The mud was deep
The timber tall.
The Pioneers had been installed
The river boats no longer called
All up the river past "the Falls"
Duvall boasted church and store
The Forest Inn and a dancing floor
A bank and a theater in World War One
Where patriotic songs were sung
Valley Fairs, success was blest
By produce from the valley's breast
Law and order were in the Marshall's hands
Townsmen formed a local Band
The logger walked with his heavy pack
Toward his weather-beaten shack
My memory leads down a lonesome lane
These things I shall never see again
All this and more my mind recalls
In the early days of Old Duvall
