Integrated 2: Project Unit 5 – Board Game
Goal:

Make a board game for four or more players
Groups:

Will have a maximum of three members.

·
Your board game does not need to be about math specifically, it just
needs to incorporate
math related topics
·
Quality and content are both important parts of the finished product
·
Include a separate copy of the directions with the board game from your
packet
·
Your design should include
o A game board that somehow incorporates a coordinate grid
o Enough game pieces for at least four players
o Dice, cards, or both for determining the moves and the order of play
o Clear, complete written instructions for playing the game
·
In the board or the rules, you must include at least three of the
following:
o Properties of quadrilaterals
o Distance Formula
o Midpoint Formula
o Slopes of parallel and perpendicular lines
o Types of Transformations
o Coordinate Geometry
Booklet:

Part 1: Title Page (one
page)
o Name and logo for board game, names of group members, period, class, date due.
·
Part 2: Description of Game and Instructions (at least one
page)
o Include why you chose the design, what are some of the features, both positive and negative.
o What are some good, appealing aspects of your game? What are some unique features?
o Should be word-processed, and well written. Think of as a description on the back of the box.

Part 3: Your Individual Work (??????)
o Read directions carefully (see other side)
o Many of these are intended to give you ideas. Not doing them will make the design phase difficult.
o Answers should be hand written but should also be very neat and easy to read.
o Each person should have their own set of answers, but you may collaborate on the answers.

Part 4: Summary (one
page)
o This is not a summary of the product, it is a summary of your experience
o How well did you accomplish your tasks? Think about how your group worked together .
o Were there any problems while making the game? If so, how did you solve them?
o Were the individual problems helpful? How?
o Any other individual or group opinions about the project.
o Should be word-processed, and well written.
