The Coaching Staff

 

Co-head coach - Bruce McDowell

Twenty-five years as a co-head coach. Bruce coaches the distance runners, but is also in charge of the paperwork and statistics. He teaches mathematics and is also the head cross country coach at CHS. Bruce graduated from Columbia River H.S. (Vancouver, WA) where he competed in track and field and cross country. He was the State AAA 3200m champ in 1985 and was a H.S. All-American. Bruce is a graduate of the University of Washington where he competed in track and field and cross country. His "T&F Widow"'s name is Kim.  Their oldest son is Patrick and their youngest is Riley.  The McDowell family resides in the Snohomish area.

 

Co-head coach - Lisa Woodard

This is Lisa’s tenth year as co-head coach, but her 22nd year of coaching hurdlers and sprinters.  A graduate of Forks H.S., she competed in track and field, basketball, and softball.  Lisa is a graduate of Western Washington University where she competed in track and field.  Lisa works at Monroe High School as a school counselor and is the Monroe head cross country coach.  She and her husband Mike reside in Lake Stevens.

 

Assistant coach - Dean Vergillo

Dean is in his tenth year as the jumps/sprint coach for the T&F team.  Dean has been the assistant cross country coach for the Cedarcrest XC team for 11 years.  He ran track & field and cross country at Issaquah H.S.  He lives in the Carnation area with his wife, Robyn.  They have two children, Miranda and Kate.  Dean is always active including but not limited to running and mountain biking. 

 

Assistant coach - Mike Miyoshi

This is Mike's ninth year as the Cedarcrest throws coach. He teaches Architectural & Engineering Design and Computer Programming and is the FIRST  Robotics team advisor at Cedarcrest.  Mike graduated from Mead High School, University of Washington, and Eastern Washington University. He and his wife, Lisa, live in Monroe with their three children, Zachary, Peter, and Thomas. Mike writes a weekly online column (http://mediocreman.com) called Musings that appears from time to time in The River Current News.

 

P.V. Assistant coach - Chris Minnie

This is Chris's seventh year as the Cedarcrest vault coach.  Chris is originally from Ohio.  He and his wife, Therese, live in Duvall.  They have two children, Bennett and Gillia
